Sick on Monday (ChanceYTPMV)
This creator, formerly known as Apple_V and Dixieyful has recently started posting YTPMVs again. At a length of 4:33, they cover a song that’s quite long and yet maintain perfect balance of old and new vibes. The square-based composition and use of both old and recent sources makes this a truly legendary video.
気分 (にやり)
It seems the system music from consoles like the 3DS or the Wii is becoming popular again, years after the consoles themselves have ended service and are no longer on sale. The way this YTPMV composites real life footage of a 3DS with the other footage layered on top is particularly appealing. Seeing NES Mario virtually play parts of the song as he falls down under the screen makes it look almost like actual gameplay footage.
まひろと時間と時計塔 (ますとも)
This song reminds me of the YTPMVs that coron3(yamas) used to make back in the day. Masutomo’s meticulous composition is charming. Especially the third section with its clock ticking in the background and small circles orbiting it in the foreground. And just when you think the YTPMV is perfect as it is, the second loop adds small variances that add to the fun.
ラ・バタイユ (fagen)
Fagen is a creator who’s only active on Nico, but is extremely talented. In this video he balances a variety of sources from Japan and overseas along with footage of an original game called Umi to Mamono no Kodomotachi. The scene where the screen cycles from day to evening, and then to night and dawn is my favorite, and it made me feel really satisfied after watching the YTPMV.
おやすみ (世田谷パイナップルケーキ)
The decision to have a character prominently displayed on the left, with the surrounding frame and YTPMV elements beside it, all sharing a design, gives this a feeling of looking at album art. YTPMVs of future bass (I think?) songs are something you don’t see often, and the audio and use of sound effects effectively compliment the track.
Sick on Monday (ChanceYTPMV)
かつてApple_VやDixieyfulという名前で活動していた作者で、最近YTPMVの投稿を再開しています。4分半という決して短くない長さの曲を完璧にカバーしていて、尚且つ昔と今の雰囲気を両立している。四角を基調とした構成で、昔ながらの素材から最近の素材までを幅広く網羅する様はまさにレジェンドです。
気分 (にやり)
3DSやWiiなどのシステム内ミュージックが、ゲーム機本体の販売やサービス終了の後に流行しているようです。このYTPMVでは中央に3DS本体の実写素材を置いて、そこに素材たちを映し出すという合成方法がとても魅力的です。NESのマリオが音を奏でながら画面下に落ちていく様子は、まるでゲームのプレイ映像のようです。
まひろと時間と時計塔 (ますとも)
この曲は、かつてcoron3（yamas）が投稿していたYTPMVを思い出させます。ますとも氏による丁寧な映像構成が魅力的で、特に3セクション目の背景に時計を置いてその中央に小窓が周るという構図はとても綺麗です。りそう的なYTPMVの映像であると思いきや、2周目の映像では色々な崩しの部分が見られるのも楽しさの一つです。
ラ・バタイユ (fagen)
fagen氏はニコニコ動画でのみ活動していますが、とても魅力的な作者のうちの一人です。特にこのYTPMVでは、日本から日本国外まで幅の広い素材選びを原作である「うみとまもののこどもたち」のフッテージを利用して上手く溶け込ませています。画面が昼→夕方→夜→夜明けと変化している部分がお気に入りで、この演出のおかげで見終わった後の満足度がとても高いです。
おやすみ (世田谷パイナップルケーキ)
キャラクターが大きく左側に映し出されていて、周りの枠やYTPMVの部分もデザインが統一されていてまるで曲のジャケットが動いているような感覚になります。フューチャー・ベース（だと思う）の曲でYTPMVを作るというのも新鮮で、音作りや効果音の使い方で上手く曲をカバーされています。
